Nitgen UBio X Iris is a complete eye recognition terminal that allows visitor management and access control. It supports fingerprints as well as cards and has a multi-model authentication function. It is widely used for ID verification in a variety of applications, including airports, hospitals, and construction sites.
How does Iris Recognition Work?
Iris scanning analyzes iris circles, also called colored circles, by measuring the unique patterns they contain. A biometric iris recognition scanner illuminates the iris with infrared light to detect unique patterns that aren’t noticeable to the naked eye. There are several common obstructions to the iris, such as eyelashes, eyelids, and specular reflections, which can be detected and excluded with iris scanners. The final result contains only the iris. Next, the patterns of the eye’s colors and lines are analyzed to find a bit pattern that encodes information in the Iris. The bit pattern is digitalized and compared with stored templates in a database to verify (one-to-one template matching) or identification.
